Jay Mahé feat. Leiyah - Do Better
‘Do Better’ is a brand new collaboration between Danish producer/musician Jay Mahé and London-based singer/songwriter Leiyah. The collaboration started during the covid pandemic when the duo met on instagram and they completed the track without ever meeting in person.
Jay elaborates: “The track is a collaboration between me as a producer and with my sound, and the young singer Leiyah from London. Our collaboration occurred during the pandemic when we met each other on Instagram. In the process, we have immersed ourselves and managed to bring together our different styles into a common universe.”
Leiyah continues: ”’Do Better’ is a personal experience of mine. A story of a relationship that sadly went wrong during lockdown and although I was in love I knew I had to do better and willed for him to do better. But the writing was on the wall"
Written by Leiyah and Jay, 'Do Better’ tells a tale of a relationship going wrong, together with a distinct late eighties/early nineties vibe and a catchy electro soul beat. The track is accompanied by a captivating music video shot in the UK and Denmark with Copenhagen by night as an effective backdrop.
Leiyah started her career at 18 after attending famed BRIT Performing Arts & Music School, when she released her debut EP ‘ Souls of September’ in 2019. This led her to record an acoustic session on BBC Radio Berkshire as well as taking part in ‘Britain's Got Bars’ on Pulse 88 FM.
Jay Mahé is a Danish born musician and music producer with roots in India. He fuses different genres from hip hop, funk, soul and pop and released his debut single ‘You Told Me (ft. J. Skavi)’ in 2020.
